Nice beat, just for a evening, surprised how short this was as below the faster water below wooded area was to hard to fish, and no path, crossing on map was not possible, even though the water was low,and wouldn't have produced any more fishable water.
Only small fish caught, elk hair caddis in the late evening, orange beaded ptn, work a treat both Czech and clink and dink.
I wouldn't consider booking a full day here, even for one angler, considering the cost, lots of flat water that only would fish when fish are rising.
A good beat for a evening,for one.
If this beat and Dinas was all one it would be great ,
Highlight was sqeeking a big dog otter with in 10 ft off me .

Lots of smaller fish caught and a couple of good size all returned safely. Very nice pretty beat with mostly easy wading. No rise, quite windy but down and across worked well with a single olive nymph

Quite hard going today. Lots of sedge around so maybe the late evening would have been the most productive time (last angler left the water at 8pm). The fish went up to 1.5lbs, taken on a mixture of dries and nymphs, mostly prospecting in the faster water at the top of the beat. A few rising on the flats later on, with 4 fish caught on a small cdc shuttlecock emerger.
Always a pleasure to be on this beat.

The river was quite high and coloured and not much fly life -
So Most of the fish caught during period of fishing downstream spiders. Most likely would have been more if we had stuck to this method.

Water level and condition seemed fine. However, there was a chill wind blowing strongly upstream. Unable to connect with any method we tried. A bit disappointed but will definitely return earlier next year.

Great day, I asked for an accessible stretch of water suitable for a geriatric angler and Allyson chose very well for me! So many thanks to her. A windy day with the breeze blowing downstream so not ideal. I tried spiders and French Nymphing; the latter taking all my fish the best of which was a beautiful brown trout of a little over two pounds; fin perfect and feisty. All fish on a gold bead hares ear. Thoroughly enjoyed my day.
