Weather overcast with a cool downstream wind, which made for difficult dry fly presentation. Sporadic hatches of olives and yellow mayfly but only a few fish rising. I caught 2 trout on a size 18 cdc olive pattern, one of which was a nice fish, probably just under a pound. I didnt fish the evening however.

Challenging during the day - hot and bright. A couple of 6 inchers caught in the riffles. I had high hopes for the evening, following the previous evening at Fenni Fach but by 10 pm there was a curious lack of a rise and the hatch was thin compared to 24 hours previously. One 9 incher caught. A nice, but short, beat.

I didn’t arrive until late afternoon but the hot sunny weather and low river conditions made the fishing difficult. A few small fish rising in the evening to olive and mayfly spinners but no major rise despite a fair bit of fly life. A caught one small trout and rose a few more on a size 18 cdc grey olive pattern.

Too bright- but lovely afternoon on a delightful stretch of river with stunning Brecon peaks in the distance. No sign of activity except for a few v small fish. We only managed to fish 2 - 6.30pm. We will try again but fish early morning or evening to dusk.

Fished from 9.30 till 6pm. Fished the lower riffles and glides with rusty klinkhammer and PTN. Wet with some respit in rhe morning. Chucked it down for an hour or 2 from 2 til 4 but didnt deter the fish. A good number of surface activity. Caught 6 WBT from 12” to 18”. All took the klinkhammer rather than PTN. Great day despite getting very wet.

Arrived early afternoon post rain and 20minutes in found myself in the middle of a rise all around me. Couldn't tie a dry fly on quick enough! 3rd cast and I had a lovely brown trout with a good fight jumping clear of the water numerous times. They seemed to cotton on to me and after that they went completely quiet. Caught down the bottom end. Two trout evaded me all day up the top end. constantly feeding off the surface. Missed one of them twice through the course of the day on a klinkhammer. Several more misses through the early evening. Just as I was considering calling it a day the middle section woke up and the klink worked. 2 caught in the next 20minutes as a nice mist rolled down onto the river. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and evening. 3 netted, several missed.

Rain the whole day, not very warm but very wet. River in good condition but not a lot of activity. Been warm for the last few days and then a fair bit cooler, might have had an effect. Caught two WBT on nymph. One short rise in mid afternoon but nothing taken. Enjoyed the day.
