Tough day - a few rises and just a trickle of Fly life. I tried everything - duos, large and small, weighted and not. Different indicators, damsel nymphs, wets, the works. One of those days?

Tough day. Didn't see a fish until I hooked a lump towards the top of the beat late in the afternoon (on GH PTN); lost it at the net but would have made easy 2 1/2 lb. Thereafter took a few - best 2 lb - on dries in the lower flats. Huge hatch of allsorts switched the fish on at about 21:00 and the otter swimming past me at 21:45 seemed a logical conclusion to affairs. As others have said, a wading staff is a very sensible thing to have.

Four trout caught on a dry fly, all of them released back to the river. Lots of flies in the river so trout were feeding continuously - they were very selective and spooky though.

Tough day, with very low water, high bright sun and temperatures hitting 28C. Despite the conditions, DB and SB managed to winkle out 2 trout each. Smallest approx. 1/2lb largest close to 1 1/2lb. All fish were in excellent condition and safely returned. Fish taken from deeper channels using heavy tungsten nymphs (PTN). Lots of fly life throughout the day, but nothing rising at all. Great day to out in a wonderful part of the world.

Perfect May conditions. A good mayfly hatch although they were only taken sporadically by the trout. In fact I was very impressed with the insect life. Water levels up after recent rain made the fishing so much better than I anticipated. All fish caught on the dry fly - mostly klinkhammers and CDCs. Wading is difficult and I recommend a wading staff as it's all bedrock. One excellent 1.5lb trout taken in the evening, otherwise most of the fish were between 3/4lb and 1lb. All fish returned.

River level low but quite clear. Abundance of different fly life inc. mayfly and some browns but only some rises seen. Fish taken on nymphs-beaded pheasant and red tag all about 0.5lbs near the bridge section on the flats.
