Despite recent rain ,river low and clear. Weed a problem coming downstream. No barbel just 3 chub between 2 of us. All chub came late afternoon and evening to luncheon meat.
Rain on and off all day.

Word of caution regarding parking, the field becomes very slippery and could cause problems for non 4WD vehicles. Just managed to get ours out.

3 Chub

River level and flow ok. Few light showers and quite windy.
Fished with pellet on hair rig and feeder with pellet. Blanked not even a bite. Foundation's booking office very helpful on choosing a beat.

Tried to fish by the pump, impossible due to heavy weed. Tried to fish down river but water too low.

Quite a good day weather-wise with only a slight breeze and two light showers. River is still very low with quite a bit of streamer weed drifting through to make life tricky. Concentrated on the faster water although tried a couple of spots further up the beat. Fish came mid-morning and late afternoon to pellets without any bites or signs between. Noise and diesel smell from the water extraction pump is a bit distracting. This stretch is, for the most part, wide and slow with lots of streamer and might well fish a lot better once its had a good flush through. Thanks WUF.

1 Barbel, 3 Chub

No catch. Lots of weed drifting downstream all day.

Lowish flow. One barbel of 4.5 lb, a chub of 1.5lb and the rest < 1lb. Mixture of legering and trotting to one rod & swim. Other rod and swim blanked. Lots of geese. Noisy abstraction pump spoilt the aesthetics.

The river was very low and clear and the weather sunny and bright.
I booked Tim Lennon for the day as my guide. He showed me his methods, which I hadn't used before and within half an hour I had my first barbel. We used pva bags with 6&8mm pellets in the bag and 8mm pellet on the hook. We ended up with 10 barbel and 1 chub.
Had a really great day and would like to thank Tim whom I learnt a lot from and the wye and usk foundation.

Abstraction pumps were a nuisance for most of the day. Otherwise a lovely days fishing. Will visit more WUF waters in the future. Thank you.

5 Barbel, 1 Chub

1 eel. Despite river being quite low we managed a few nice barbel up to 8.5 lbs.
Found the cows were a bit of a problem when parking in the field as alternative car park not marked very well on map and we could not find it - hence one very dirty white van needing a wash the next day.

River very low. Caught the fish in the fast flow on heavy feeder, groundbait/small pellets, with pellet on hair rig. Lots of effort but worth the hard work.
