Unfortunately the river was too brown and high to fish after the heavy rain the day before so the rods never made it out of the car!

1'10" and rose 2" according to my stick in the two + hours I was there. Heavy hail scuds. Water clear and occasional trout rising.

High, but clear water after a floods from Storm Katy and a generally cloudy day made for good conditions. A nice 18 lb cock springer. Taken on a gold body Willie Gunn fished deep.

1 Salmon, 1 Grayling

2ft 3" 4ft vis and dropping very slowly. Warmish sunny afternoon with a few LDO's and Grannom on the wing. Had time to trawl a monkey through likely spots in Bridge, Gravel catch and Rock to no avail. Don't like fishing sunk line, often find myself feeling it isn't deep enough over the lies and then it inevitably hangs up on the inside. Oh for a few weeks time when the sink-tips and size 8's can come out.
Left river when water levels inside waders had equalised with the water level on the outside them!

3 Trout

Fished a relaxed afternoon session in low clear water. Leaves starting to drop but the weather was still quite warm. No fish seen other than a lively trout. I wish the salmon well over the next few weeks and here's to continued recovery in 2016.

Beautiful day on a wonderful beat. Didn't see a salmon, but a couple of takes from WBT near prime lies caused some excitement.

Rectory neck - pool ("Just around the corner").
12 Noon. 12lbs Hen - slightly coloured, high condition. No.8 Long-tailed Thunder (Franks). Floating line. Water surprisingly clear. 52°F. 1' 2". Bright/ light showers

1 Salmon

Fished before and after work. In the morning, lost a good fish after long first run that took at the top of the Mill stream, then in the Rectory pool, at the end of the old croy a steady tightening turned into a clean 10lber that had been in a couple of weeks.
After work, fished the same water. 2 separate fish moved to the fly on the far side of the Mill stream before, about 30 yards down, a 4.5lb grilse took solidly. No further action in neck of Rectory or the pool itself, but 3 fish hooked and 2 others moved in 3hrs fish fishing is pretty good!

2 Salmon

Fished dry fly for rising fish. Good hatch in the afternoon evening. Used olive, Adams and black klinkhammer. A lovely day with the river to myself.
