Only popped down for a couple of hours, walked all the way down to Glangwye to have two canoes go past, one person walking down the river.

First time on this stretch of the Wye. No fish caught.
Group of teenagers on Lilo's and later canoes floating through the beat from the bridge to the area near the
fishing hut.

A great time spent on this beat. Not many fish caught but the other was a roach which caused great merriment.

The river was running steady at 0.9m on the Erwood gauge and with a slight tinge, albeit decent enough clarity for fly fishing. With such favourable conditions I was surprised to not have a pull from a salmon. I only saw one all day, a grilse between the Island and Rock pools. I had a small pike on a sunray shadow so that spared my blushes.
