River at 1ft 6 in the morning--all looked good . Returned home in the evening very wet!!

1 Trout

Water at 1’10”. Fished for 4 hours in Rock, Bridge and Gravel Catch. Didn’t see anything.

A belting day, with sunshine and a gentle breeze throughout - a real pleasure to be on such a scenic beat in those conditions, with the river dropping to an ideal height. One rod was targeting salmon all day with the fly, the others switched between fly / spin to suit the different pools.
Saw several salmon moving above the bridge in the morning but none were contacted.
Two of us then switched to fishing a duo on 4/ 5wt. set-ups as the fish rising to the immense hatches proved too much to resist! We had grayling to 2lbs and trout to 12oz, mostly on the dry but a few to weighted nymphs. We lost count of the number of takes missed. Saw a cracking barbel beneath the bridge, head down, tail up, 8lbs +

beautiful warm and sunny day, river falling and clearing. spinning early, fly later, all ignored. nil return

The river level dropped slightly overnight but the water was still coloured therefore fly fishing was almost impossible. No salmon!

The river was high and the water coloured so little chance of a salmon. Tried some spinning to no avail!

Fished for 6 hours but not a single bite. Plenty of March Browns being taken by trout though!

Rain all day and river rising. Nil return.
