Parked at fishing hut and started fishing directly in front of hut and most fish taken at this area. Nice brown and grayling taken alongside single rock mid river on size 20 ptn. One really good brown lost around rocks just downstream. Relatively easy wading around this area and lots of small browns that would rise to dry fly - mainly emerger and para adams. Only fished for about 2 1/2 hours.

Great conditions, water dropping nicely and clearing throughout day. Unfortunately no signs of any fish... I think we need a pro-longed spate to move some fresh fish into and throughout the system - encouraging those that have survived this unprecedented Summer to leave the safety of their lairs... Roll on Autumn!

Slightly dirtier than expected water made things quite tough to start, but improved throughout the day. First few fish fell to nymphs then 3 larger fish came to a white sculpin lure and tungsten head. Great hatches all day but very few fish rising...

Only managed to fish for an hour or so around midday as river was rising rapidly and becoming very coloured due to heavy rainfall upstream, I presume. Caught 3 wbt returned safely, the largest of which was about 12 inches.

A strong north wind made French nymphing difficult for most of the afternoon but weighted nymphs below an indicator was very effective. Trout were easy to find in the mid section at the end of the Leaning Willow and downstream whilst the grayling were elusive everywhere until early evening. The water is horribly warm but there's plenty of aerated water on the beat and all fish went back well.
