10am  bright, warm and sunny day with a light upstream breeze. Water very clear but not on it's bones. No insects coming off and no rising fish.
Walked to the bottom of the beat and cast out a dry LDO. It was taken immediately, sadly the fish came off. A similar occurence happened about half an hour later. Following that a fish came up to inspect my fly and was not impressed. It was now getting towards noon. I decided to have an early lunch.
Walked along the remainder of the beat. Odd fish were rising but not in numbers. A small but steady stream of LDO's were now floating downstream but the numbers of rising fish remained low. By 3pm the rises were very few and far between.
I decided to call it a day with a total of 2 fish to the net and 4 lost.
A pleasant day but no cigar.

Very good fishing in challenging conditions - river down to its bare bones and little cloud cover. Sporadic trickle hatches of LDO brought a few fish to the surface and some good dry fly sport was had. Best fish 18” with several around 13-14”.

First time in a river this year! Beautiful warm day, river very clear. 2 small trout (6"-8") returned in good condition. First one taken on a Black Pennell and the second on a PTN Hares Ear. No risings seen, small occasional hatches. A lovely day for fishing though.

Sunny day with crystal clear water. Missed one take on black pennell(size 14) with dry fly as indicator.

Sunny day with crystal clear water. Caught and released two little trouts about 20cm, missed couple of takes on Black Pennell(size 14) with Orange Foam Parachute Adams as indicator.

Took two on nymphs, trout came up at dusk had two more on spiders.
