(NB 11th June not my booking.) An enjoyable day between the showers , little fly life showing , only a couple of fish rose .
Hard going, however my fishing partner took 3 good WBT 12-14 inches.
Will be back

Great fishing as always but have heard of several instances of poaching at Talybont. Have found thick mono on the banks in a couple of locations which would suggest either night lines being set up or people spinning/worming. Always keep an eye out when I’m up there but might be worth asking NRW to also look into it but aware they are very under resourced.

No fish caught - only fished for an hour before being blown off the reservoir by really strong winds and heavy rain, bit of waste of time and mis-spent funds. Not clear why in the case of Talybont why the Wye & Usk charge 30% of the fee as an admin cost (booking fee)... If this is just to raise money for W&U then just say so versus passing this off as a booking/admin fee which has been out ruled in most organisations. Instead of book fee call it W&U funding contribution, I'd be happy with that.
WUF Note: The Fishing Passport is non-profit making and any fees are to cover the costs of running a booking office, credit card charges, website etc. They are not a Wye & Usk Foundation funding contribution.

Weather overnight changed so poor conditions in the morning. After lunch improved a little but wasn’t until late in afternoon saw several fish rising. No luck but easy to get too and pleasant day fishing.

Fished 11am to 4pm, with traditional wets and dries, really hard going with the weather so hot and bright, and not quite enough wind. The odd fish showing, but no significant hatch to talk of. Still, a lovely place to blank and get sunburnt, will give it another shot sometime, hoping for more cloud and a bit of a chop.

Great conditions in the morning, Managed to get 5 lovely trout. All within 45mins. No fish rising.
The colour variation between the trout is fascinating, not sure why this is.
