A cool, breezy, over cast day with some short periods of sun. We fished for a couple of hours in the mid/late afternoon. Saw some caddis hatching but not much else. A couple of fish moved and we had one good pull but didn't manage to make it stick.

Blustery cold day with wind blowing from the dam down the reservoir. Fish rising but generally just out of casting range (how do they know??) although I must record a nil return, I did miss a take to a dry black gnat and hopper! Have previously caught a 3lb brownie from here so I know they are in there and can be of a good size! Will be back but must say I think it fishes better in the evening towards dusk as the water is extremely clear at present.

Snapped twice on a pheasant tail nymph and a missed take on a hare's ear. (Amateur!) Intermediate line. Lots of hatching going on but very few rises. I'll be back.

Nil return. No offers. Just one fish seen on a very wet and windy day. Water level appeared lower than usual as the banks were smothered with rotting, slimy algae.

Single Brown Trout caught - 35cm long & just under a pound in weight ( 15 1/2 oz). Caught in bay at south end (SO 089177) on damsel nymph.
Sadly the fish had quite a few lice on it, although its general condition otherwise seemed good.
I'd tried dry fly from bridge pillars up to the bay with no luck. Very few fish seen rising - almost all before 0900, and around the bridge pillar area.
Thanks & best regards.
