Started at the top, Barbel first cast & a couple of Chub tried a few swims in the middle but nothing, finished off in the bottom field with another 4 Chub & a nice Barbel just as the sun was setting, all fish on the pellet feeder, always nice to be on the river

Cold night and water temperatures fell. Tricky morning but once the fish were located and the sun warmed things up a bit bites came steadily into the evening.

River falling with lots of sun for a change but this made bites hard to come by . All fish came later in the afternoon to meat baits .

Not my best day. Biggest chub about 4lb but couldn’t track down or tempt the barbel. Cold rainy day, river charging and bank very, very dodgy in places. Top croy under about 1 metre of water.

River dropping throughout day after big rise the previous day. Fast flow. Bright and sunny conditions. Barbel unweighed but around 5lb-6lb. Chub unweighed around 2lb-3lb.

Was never going to repeat yesterdays red letter day - rain back today but we still managed to winkle a few out.

Originally booked with some late summer trotting in mind but the weather had other ideas with a near 1 metre rise in levels in two days leaving the croy at the upstream end under water. Ledger tactics with feeder and boilie accounted for all but one of the 11 barbel and the chub, unusually for this stretch, just weren't interested.
