Weather and river not ideal. Managed to catch a 6 lb plus barbel. Pellet and feeder method.

1 Barbel

Est 10lbs fresh Salmon, copper Willie Gunn, caught at 11:30 about 300 yards downstream of the top croy. Thank you.

1 Salmon, 6 Trout

2 x 8oz grayling, 3lb chub and 4lb 6oz barbel all on feeder. Also lost 2 bigger barbel.

2 Grayling, 1 Barbel, 1 Chub

Beautiful surrounding, great weather, falling river, with colour, and 6 fish caught. Early morning Chub, (4lb) on maggot feeder. Moved swim around midday, found deeper water, switched to pellet feeder which gave up 1 Barbel around the 7lb mark, and several Chub between 2 and 5 lb.
Lost another probably bigger Barbel to the net.
All fish caught on first field on entering fishery. Will be back to Middle Ballingham next season.

Struggling against conditions - one bite - no fish

River still up - a raging torrent - no fish at all.

A rising, heavily coloured river after heavy overnight rain spoiled sport today. Just one small chub on bread, caught in the grass about 18 inches from the bank. Tried lots of different tactics and baits over a full day but without further success.

Again a lot of water. Fished with a big lead in the weed. Pellets and meat. 6 barbel between 6 and 8lb.

6 Barbel

1st time on this beat, nice easy access and plenty of swims although when the river is this low we could only find a bit of depth in the 1st field. CH had 4 and I 1 all on the usual pellet feeder method. Would certainly return here with a few more feet of water on. Fish were 5 to just under 8lb.

Rolled meat all at far end of beat swans were a nuisance, good day though .
