Having fished this stretch on the Tuesday we were not to keen to go back on the Thursday. Conditions very much the same with low clear water and little flow, just one bite and one Barbel of 8lb 8oz to show for a very hard days fishing.

Arrived to very low river with very little flow but still had a great day. 1 small barbel about 3lb and 3 good barbel from 7lb to 8lb. Caught 1 at 7.30am and the rest after 4.30pm.
Really enjoyed it hardly any canoes.

First time I have fished the Wye and hoping that I had arrived for an autumn bonanza with the barbel. The fish were not exactly lining up yet as the river was a bit low and it is still not really feeling like winter is around the corner!! However on day one I had a chub about 3lbs and a barbel at last knockings of 9 lb 2. On day two it was very quiet until the last hour and a half. First fish was a 9lb 6 beast that fought like fury. This was followed by another of approx 6-7 lb and then another pull missed at the end. In summary a bit more action would have been nice but the bigger fish was immaculate and a real mike Tyson so it made it worthwhile.
Stayed at Ferndale b & b which was local and very comfortable, recommended if you like some comfort with your fishing!

I could lie and say my first fish was a 'double' but according to my new scales it weighed in at 9lb 13oz, a PB for me. The other one was a mere 5lb 8oz caught on last knockings. Both fish in superb condition and fell to usual halibut pellets and groundbait feeder.
Thoroughly enjoyable day, even though bites were slow, presumably due to low water conditions. Canoe traffic was light and not an issue. I was surprised to see a David Walliams look alike making his way down river towards the Bristol Channel.

River very low, only small dace and bleak caught on float tactics. Very disappointed with the beat considering the glowing reports we based our trip on.
