Slow going this morning with only three bites which produced a good Chub of 4lb 6ozs and two Barbel, the best going 8lb 13ozs. Reading other reports suggests that evening may be more productive.

Another great day on the Wye. 14 barbel to 9-14 along with a few bonus chub. All fell to pellet/feeder approach with the majority of the fish coming between 5pm and dusk.
Dont be put off by the canoes, we had bites whilst there were canoes going through the swim, although the 6 muppets in the two inflatable paddling pools raised an eyebrow!!

Quiet start on pellets, changed to meat and caught 5-1/2lb barbel straight away. Four other good bites but didn't catch any more, left mid afternoon.

Another beautiful day on the Wye. Caught 9 barbel to 9-4 and 5 chub between three of us. Heavy heavy canoe traffic until 5.00pm. Chub caught throughout the day with the barbel showing later in the session. All caught on boilies and pellets. Plenty of sewin and a couple of salmon jumping!

I fished a couple of swims in the Meadow and caught 2 barbel, best 8:10, on pellets - rather slow. The recent rain in Dorset probably didn't reach Hereford as the river was still very low and clear. Caught my fish during the canoe frenzy which started just after 9am with last stragglers passing at 8:45pm(!). Saw perhaps a dozen salmon on the stretch, a couple of which I'd estimate at over 20lb.
All round a very enjoyable day.

4 days booked on Courtfield & Wyebank [2 days on each]. Fished short sessions due to family committments but had a great time. Weather was fantastic - not ideal for fishing but the river and valley looked magnificent. Some nice Chub and plenty of Barbel - all on pellett.

I saw my first otter - paddled across right in front of my feet, gave me a look of total disdain and carried on past as if I wasn't even there.
Although I was only planning a short session and expectations were not too unrealistic, I struggled to find the fish and finished with a couple of nice chub and three eels - all a decent size. Lovely stretch of water, easy access and stacks of features to give you confidence. Probably best fished early morning or late afternoon in these weather and water conditions.
Continuous boat traffic, swimmers, water fights and three guys without a boat at all, just larking about in the water with a football. Too much for me, I'm afraid. Could I suggest that the website carry a symbol against each beat to indicate the amount of boat traffic that can be expected, like chillies on a takeaway menu so that those with a low tolerance for noise can avoid the risk.
Thanks WUF - Even a bad day on the river is better than a good day at work.

A good session on Saturday once the canoe traffic died down. Fished several swims in Legg Meadow and landed 10 barbel to 9.08, 4 chub to 4.12 and an eel pushing 2lb. All fish taken on elips pellet behind a feeder.
First trip to section since WUF took over and have to say banks noticeably tidier, probably due to reduced pressure. I will be back later in the year when there is a bit more water in the river.
