Very quiet, lots of weed coming through, fished the lower end of court field with halibut pellets over a hemp based ground bait no bites until 7pm after a change of bait to spicy sausage boilies resulted in a 7lb barbel at last light

Very quiet, lots of weed coming through, my first time fishing the lower end of the court field stretch using halibut pellet over a hemp based ground bait, no bites. After a change of bait to spicy sausage boilie resulted in a 7lb barbel at last light.

Fished the lower wooded section,after a slow start things improved later in the day,best Barbel was 9 lbs 6 oz and Chub up to around 5 lbs.

A tough morning spend roving, fishes every peg of the stretch with nothing to show for our efforts. In the afternoon we decided to set up in a swim each at the top of the beat baiting little and often, fishing to the far margin making sure to hit the same spot every cast. Regular cast with pellet feeders turned out the be the winning method.
Will definitely be going back.

Last minute decision to give Courtfield a go with my brother after finishing work earlier, started at 15:00 fished till 21:00, 2 small barbel caught using pva bags both came within 10 minutes of each other after 19:00. Pva bags filled with hinders pellets & dumbell hookbaits. My brother blanked.

3 anglers, an unsuccessful morning. But after lunch in the local pub and a change of swims the afternoon produced 2 barbel, 6.5lb, 7lb. And a 13.5lb pike.
