Arrived mid afternoon with the wind blowing branches off trees and 2 hours without seeing a fish rise, just thinking of giving up as the wind started to ease and a few fish began rising. Had one trout on an emerger, lost another, but the highlight was seeing a Lamprey of about 3 lbs.
I reached through the river and closed my hand around it, nothing for a fraction of a second and then it shot out of the water and kited across the surface downstream, I nearly ended up on my arse but it had me laughing out loud at my own stupidity.
Nice beat that has to be waded, which is tricky in parts.

Very hot and bright made for tricky fishing. Two nice fish of around a pound obliged from below the bridge which is mostly wadeable given the low water and many more were lost/risen mainly on olives and emergers. I could not stay into the evening which was a real pity.

Almost Silly Season evening, but not quite. Weather sunny and warm with light breeze. Started at 16.30 on team of sedge and caddis nymph down woodstream. Had immediate take on sedge but only a 4oz par. Continued down to pick up two more on the sedge at 12oz and 1lb. J had one fish of 12 oz.
J fished subsurface for the rest of evening at the top run, landing 2 nice fish of 1lb each and several other offers.
I fished dry and landed 4 more which fell to size 14 sedge, and later white wulff. Lost another of 2lb plus at the head of the rock on the wulff late on. Temperature dropped to 9 deg by 9 and it all went quiet. Plenty of assorted fly life but only the occasional mayfly, but plenty of yellow may dun. Very enjoyable.

1 pull but no fish. Water dropping all day. A few trout rising below bridge. The banks do need some maintenance to improve access.

Nothing taken. Saw a couple of splashes and a large trout by the bank so the fish were there... no hatch.
Beautiful spot, wading over boulders tricky at times. I would give it another go. River at 0.9m

No fish, very bright and warm day, despite regular but not heavy hatch of LDOs saw only 2 rises all day. Dredging weighted nymphs saw shoddy angling bumping two fish off. Beautiful stretch of water- hope to visit again despite lack of success.
