Unfortunately caught no fish.
Issues:
1. Two of the best pools on river Rheidol were made useless because families had picnic there and many children were playing in the river and making noise. If the spots are open to public for picnic then it's not a fishing spot managed by an fishing club for a fee! It's pity the pools were perfect for fishing.
2. We went to the w3w address of Cwm Rheidol Reservoir, mentioned in the lakes map downloaded from AAA website, but there was no access to the lake, and there was a sign saying fishing is not permitted. We then tried to find the power station car park, as mentioned in the river maps of AAA for the spot M on the map, could not find it. We wasted a lot of time to find out where the AAA fishing spots on Rheidol Reservoir are , with no luck. So AAA provides wrong information to the people buy day tickets. Not happy at all for the tickets we bought and the service and information we received
Fishing Passport Note : We’d hope that each anglers visit would be peaceful but in reality this is not always going to be the case. I’m afraid that anglers will usually encounter other river users, particularly on warm summer weekends. There is 16 miles of the Rheidol to fish.
We are not aware of any 'Fishing is not permitted' signs.
Fishery maps can be downloaded from your Order Confirmation email if booking through the Fishing Passport website but we will give your feedback to AAA on the information that they provide directly from their website.

Caught on dry fly under the bridge. Approximately 1lb.
Very few fish seen on this beat. The water does not look healthy, with lots of that slimy olive green weed.
When we came to live in Herefordshire 50 years ago, you could walk along the river Teme and see thousands of trout darting under the banks. I was even able to catch them by hand. These days I see almost no fish in the Teme by Brampton Bryan and there is also that slimy weed similar to the Edw. As a lad, I could catch little trout in really small streams and brooks. These days I see nothing. What have we done to our environment? The tragedy is that those who remember what our rivers and streams used to be are becoming fewer and younger people are accepting the status quo as normality. It makes me angry, but the only way we can address the situation is to realise that there is a major problem.
I hope someone reads this. Please give me a call if you have anything to say. My next fly fishing exped will be Slovenia or Estonia, where the streams are still pristine.

Hard conditions, the river was very low and the water was crystal clear. Pre-booked this day due a few weeks prior and the weather could not be worse. Didn't see a cloud in the sky all day.
You could see every fish in the swim with little effort, however they were just not feeding. Managed a few nice chub early in the morning, for the rest of the day the fish were just sat on the top of the water.

Fished in the morning for two hours before it got too bright. Caught barbel number one on first cast....weight hardly hit the bottom! Another followed quickly and then the chub. Once the sun was overhead it all went quiet, so packed up as local.
Excellent bank access but a long handled landing net required.
