1 barbel on the first cast at lunch time, on the float with meat. After that, only cub all afternoon, loads on the float, all huge fish. No barrel to be seen all day since the first. Seemed to be the pattern across all 4 days we fished. You'd catch one barbel and then you wouldn't see another again that day.

River ripping through near bottom end.
7 Barbel caught float fishing fast water with very big waggler float and banded 8mm pellet, accurate loose feeding with 6 mm pellets did the trick.
Most fish 5to7 pound, biggest 9 pounds on the button.
Red letter day, improve your skills, get on the float.

6 decent Chub on a slow day. Fished into dusk, no sign of Barbel today. Lovely day on the river. For info at time of writing….top end of the wood has a swim on the top croy and one below but it’s very overgrown up there so recommend travelling light as there’s not much in between. Lots of nettles too so wear long trousers. Meadow has good swims but fewer than previous years - particularly around the wood entrance. Take a rope and spike for some of these.
I saw a report about problems parking in the wood but can confirm it’s clear for two cars no probs.

The perfect weather when I unlocked the top nature reserve gate this morning at half six ....Overcast , with a strong breeze, perfect for Bugeilyn!!!
She's like a big mug of horlicks , been a full year since I've been to one of my old favourites....A client wanted to change a fishing day, so, I had a free day, so up into the mountains it was then......
Sublime sport from the off ..... My selected wets for here doing the business .... Lovely solid takes too, and I'm sure the overall average size of the brownies here is much bigger than twenty years ago here !!!! Is there more food, with more aquatic weeds, and nuphar, now in abundance, particularly on the right hand , christmas tree shoreline..... who knows ????
Good fish, most over nine inches, with five or six eleven of twelve inch fish ....Two double hook ups also .... Now they put a lovely bend in your rod !!! Superb....and the colours of these black finned brown trout....stunning, with a green platinum hue ... fantastic...
Some dry fly sport too mid afternoon, thd breeze dropped, uo came the fish .... A small black f fly doing the business , tight yo thf lilly pads at tgr very top end ... Tis a bit hairy uo there careful walking so you don't go through the top crust !!! Tis thr moving of it that kind of worries me ... Actually I loop around the boggy section and comf back in towards the lake again ....Fab aggressive takes too, on thf dries , think I tallied just over eight on thf dries, thf remainder on thf tiny wets ... my Diawl Bach doing the business... very solid takes too them !!!
A fantastic red letter day at an old timer .... Twenty six, maybe one or two more ... It's just super sport !! I would say, getting the right weather is everything for this llyn, as it is with most mountain llyns !!! Right, that's me ready for a can of Stowford Press.....Well earned I'd say !!!!!!! Lol ........

Not much sign on this occasion , very few rises.
Pathway overgrown and lane to the parking also……bouldery wading tricky in places.
