Another good day on this beat. All fishes taken with French nymphing, no fly life and see just 1 fish raising. 15 BT and 5 graylings, fish of the day this fat and healthy WBT

15 Trout, 5 Grayling

Very small fish, caught in the rapids on a small gold-head. Very low water and bright sun.

Did not fish - blistering heat during the day and we couldn't stay until evening. Had a great session previous evening so cut our losses and went home early.

River desperately in need of a good flush through, gravel areas coated in a thick scum. river must be running at least a couple of feet below normal. No fish taken

River levels well down. no fish taken.

River low but some fish showing, two beautifully marked brown trout taken on about three quarters of a pound and another about one and a half pounds. Enjoyable day.

Low river but deep enough channels and faster sections to allow pocket water fishing. 5 salmon parr were also caught but don't really count for the stats. Fantastic to see grayling too. All fish 6" to 10" and taking both the 14 Klinkhammer and 18 gold-head PTN on dry-dropper setup.

Another red hot day on the Wye. Never been so hot whilst fishing!

We were travelling home today so had little hope of much action. After spotting some chub on the surface we managed 4 off the top of bread, along with a chub and an eel on meat. Had we fished the evening, I'm confident we would have had the odd barbel.

Saw our mates from the canoes at Fownhope yesterday. Fools. One canoe came straight for my line and I had to quickly grab the rod and put the tip under the water. All I got was looked at while I was stupid...

Also had a family swimming in the river near the island. Can't understand why you would want to swim in a river thats full of cow excrement but each to their own. Had they been swimming there in normal conditions I would have been annoyed but with the river been so low fortunately we were not fishing there.

What is the procedure if you find someone swimming on the Wye? Do they have the right to swim or do they have to move? Either way its annoying when we pay 25 pounds a day to fish.
