Nice looking stretch with plenty of variety. Fishing was very poor today, only a few bites to the 2 of us, 1 chub caught, barbel lost as light faded. Would fish this stretch again.

2 x trout 15 inches and 19 inches, Waterhen Bloa. Many thanks to owner Barry Paraskevas for inviting me to try for a salmon. However, this was not to be, although I did get a long slow pull in the Rock pool. Still, the casting practice was good and this beat has an interesting variety of pools to try. After lunch, the LDOs showed up, so I dug out the trout rod and got a lovely brace of fish on spiders which made my day. A pleasantly warm afternoon, with no wind for a change.

Beautiful stretch of the Wye, fast water but quite shallow below the bridge giving an ideal spot to chest wade and present the fly in the water.
You can fish this beat in less than 2 hours. I combined this with my day at Backney to supplement my day.
Thank you.

Afternoon on the river on a glorious spring day, no salmon seen but river looked good. Hearing of all the action in Hereford it shouldn't be long before they will offer them selves up anywhere on the river.
Message to self, put the trout rod in next time, lunchtime was alive with trout rising to a half decent hatch of olives, 14:30 onwards till 16:00. Spring is here today but possibly gone tomorrrow.

A beautiful day with the river in excellent condition. Probably too early for the upper river yet though.
