1 x coloured hen fish, 30 inches, on a Bann Shrimp. I had to work hard for this on a very dark, wet afternoon. River seemed in good play, but the occasional dark fish showing in a couple of the usual hotspots did not seem to want to play. This one came from Isaacson's Run, not known as a catch in recent years. Never say die.

1 Salmon

Thank you Wye and Usk. A red letter day, caught my first Wye salmon. 31" approx 11 lb stale cock. Caught on a cascade.
The first time I have been able to fish when the conditions were perfect.

Enjoyable days fishing, fish caught on boilies and pellets.

7 Barbel, 4 Chub

Great end to season, 8lb hen fish. Another one on briefly and a great display of fun in the fast water from an otter.

Fantastic water conditions, beautiful scenery and, very soon after starting, a fish. Only an 8oz brownie, but the only contact all day. No salmon seen and the heavy afternoon rain and surface leaves eventually made me leave for home. Good to see today's report of 100 salmon moving up from the lowest beats...funny how they know that the fishing season is coming to an end.

A good day, however no fish seen or caught.

Weather - changeable and windy. Water level almost at full level. 5 trout caught of various size between 1.5 to 3lb. All caught using ledger.

5 Trout

Caught the barbel on lone angler squabs and 2 chub. The rest were caught trotting with maggots. Caught one river carp around 10lbs. Also caught a lot of dace.

Very dificul day, river looked perfect but no fish. Not helped by the fact that there were 5 other anglers on the opposite bank (also not catching). Tried to access the lower beat, but in the wet, crampons and sherpas would be needed....
