Fantastic days fishing. 11 fish caught between us in 4 hours. All caught on worm ledgered with poly balls to keep worm off bottom. Fish are very small though.

Lovely afternoon in a very scenic stretch of the Wye. Caught nothing, but that was as much my bad fishing as anything!

Unfortunately no trout caught during this visit, don't think they liked my worms. I spoke with quite a few anglers fishing along the same bank and they had also failed to catch. Left venue at 15.00 too hot.
Ranger checked ticket on arrival at the water was very friendly.
Will be booking another visit week commencing 18th August depending on reservoir water level and weather conditions.

Extremely disappointing trip. I came all the way from South Yorkshire to find a river with hardly any water in it. I couldn't really fish in the morning due to a constant flotilla of canoes coming down the river and many of them crashing straight into the overhanging trees that I was trying to put bait under. After lunch time I got into the centre of the river and walked the stretch up and down trying to find deep spots with some fish, but to no avail. There is also a makeshift ramp on the gravel track to protect a pipe going into the farmers field which is poorly constructed and is too high and almost tore through the bottom of my car (twice, as I had to get back over it to go home). I never saw any fish or any signs of any fish in this stretch of river. All in all a completely disappointing journey which cost me a fair few quid to make.

My first visit to this water, I can only describe it as a jungle with nettles galore and large numbers of horse flies. The river looked somewhat murky and difficult to fish but did have a midstream release but that was it.

Fished from 4.30pm - 9pm in mostly hot and sunny conditions. Tried several swims and caught in the fast water and at the bridge on meat and corn. Pretty pleased with the catch given it was the first time on the beat. Hope to return and try out some different swims and methods. Thanks to all concerned for making this beat available.

Fished Sunday 27th to Tuesday 29th. Booked in advance as we have to travel 200 miles. Weather was 26/27 Degrees, clear skies, river was low, slow and clear. On arriving at the water at 5.30am Sunday morning we were greeted by a campsite of canoeist on the bank on the main shingle area. I mentioned to the one guy who poked his head out his tent that it was private land, to which he replied'I KNOW' so we assumed they had permission, so we just ignored them. They left about 9am. One of my party moved to where they had camped and found 2 rubbish sacks stuffed under a tree.
Fishing was very slow but we did manage to catch every day. Most methods tried, but the fish fell to pellets and feeders. Barbel were 7.6lbs, 7.3lbs, 7.3lbs & 2lb. The Chub were all between 2-4lbs.Will be back next year to try our luck again.
I would like to thank the Wye & Usk Foundation for doing a great job. Cheers!
