6 trout each, mainly caught on a silver Mepps. Had a few with a worm on a bubble float. Also caught a nice little brownie which was put back, great day, great weather.

A very cold and crisp morning giving way to a very warm and pleasant early afternoon, the river level about 6 feet above normal and still flowing quite fast.
The level did drop a few inches during the day but all the usual tactics, baits and sneaking about didn't pay off and yielded no fish.

Not the best of days from a catching point of view but still well worth being there. We had a fantastic welcome from Terry including a great cup of tea and up to date info. We finished the day with just two 4lb chub that fell to one of our rods, a lovely venue and we'll definitely be back

Cage feeder was the main tactic and baits included pellet, boilies, bread etc. The river was well up and heavy rain the night before didn't help.
A nice section though. Would definitely consider when conditions are more favorable.

River predictably up and coloured after over night rain but still within its banks. Drop in temperature meant that fishing was slow with just the one barbel - a fish of 8.15 taken at around 2.30.

River still rather high and coloured. Despite fishing hard, no sign of fish to maggot or corn. Newcomers to this beat should realise that if they cross the bridge there is a gate about fifty yards further on. This is quite invisible from the bridge and it is easy to believe that the only access is through the bushes at the end of the bridge.

The river is within its banks, still lots of colour, was flowing through faster than I'd imagined, struggled to hold bottom with a 4oz lead! Also it was our first time on this stretch and conditions made it hard to establish any river bed features. 1 chub caught by my friend, I'm gutted to have blanked but a very nice stretch of river and I will definitely give it another go when its not carrying so much pace.

Blanked! This is a new stretch from the Wye and Usk Foundation so thought I'd give a bit of info. Parking and access is great. To access lower part below the forest follow the route on map. It looks like the map is wrong as someone's house and garden is on the river bank appearing to block the route but there's a public right of way through the garden. You actually walk through a small walkway along the hedge and come out on the owners patio! Keep walking and the path will take you up the hill and around the forest. There is another way to this part though if you walk down the road from the car instead of through field there's another path that takes you up behind the house and then down below forest.
