Fishing:Trout (River)

River a little low and sun very bright. No sign of fish rising, tried a range of methods, NZ with a bright gold head resulted in a number of small finger length trout. Think I need to practice a bit more. This is a super place to fish and will return next season, hopefully when more water in the river.

Area:Lower Wye
Beat:Wyebank
Fishing:Coarse
No. of Anglers:2
River very low which meant that only one swim was really fishable so shared it. 5 barbel to 6.6 lbs and 5 chub to one rod and 3 barbel to the other. Chub were caught on meat and barbel on small pellet. This would be a good stretch for 2 with another foot or two on it.

Area:Lower Wye
Beat:Courtfield
Fishing:Coarse
No. of Anglers:3
Whilst we fished Wyebank the others fished Courtfield. Good swims at the top end however the guys were not happy as there is a pumping station that was cleaning silt back into the river so both noise and water disturbance all morning didn't help. Only 2 barbel landed with a large one lost later in the day.
2 Barbel, 1 Chub

Area:Lower Wye
Beat:Goodrich Court
Fishing:Salmon
No. of Anglers:1
No fish caught and no fish seen. Anglers should be careful of trying to get in the water above the Dog Hole as there is a metal spike hidden in the undergrowth waiting to spear them (bent it over as much as I could).
