Reservoir fished well, everyone else else seemed to be catching their quota too. All under 1.5 pounds though, would be nice to catch a few bigger fish next time!

Had a rather frustrating day as my 86yr old Dad wanted to come with me, meaning there was only one swim that we could get to. Still had a nice day though - I will definitely come back to fish the better swims.

Method of fishing was cage feeder and PVA tubing. Fish caught on pellet. When I booked the beats I asked if access to the pegs was easy, as I am a senior citizen, and was told it was. On the recommended stretch from the water works only two of the pegs were accessable to anything other than a mountain goat.

A nice day to be back on this lovely beat. A few fish rising here and there throughout the day, with willow flies being the most abundant. All but two of the fish taken on dries.

River low, on the feeder-mag. Barbel up to 2lbs, chub up to 3-4lbs and silvers. Nice to be able to drive 4x4 along beat and park behind you. Must try top end of beat looks good. You need a 4x4 in the wet!

Wonderful day but no fish. I knew it was going to be difficult when I peeped over the bridge and a decent trout took off down stream into a deep pool. Ane so it continued, however careful I was the fish just were too easily spooked. But I did see a sparrow hawk, a kingfisher and numerous crayfish so it was a success in some respects. If you leave the river between the bridge and the Back brook it is almost impossible to return to the river as the vegetation (particularly the holly hedge) is so dense.

A hot sunny day. A lovely venue but with difficult casting and crystal clear water it was hard going. Concentrated on the upper half and had several pulls and lost one fish to nymphs but no catch today. Good fun trying though.

11 x grayling 12-16 inches, 4 x trout 6-12 inches. Rather odd weather, today, beginning with - was it very thick condensing mist or a thin drizzle? - going on to be hot and sticky during the afternoon, followed by a cold wind and then finally mist again rolling down from the Black Mountains. I fished during the warm afternoon and found almost nothing rising naturally, but a suitable artificial seemed to attract some nice grayling up to the surface for a while until the cold wind brought the action to a halt by late afternoon. Grey Duster and Grayling Steel Blue in sizes 16 and 18 were the patterns which did best.

River levels and colour excellent. Not much rising at first till about 11.00, then a few showing. Hooked fish on on dry grey sedge which put up a great struggle - a superb grayling about 2lbs. It took ten miutes of holding in current for the fish to recover but eventually it swam off strongly. This was to prove the only fish of the day. I found patch of rising fish lower down but could only touch a few. By now the sun from a cloudless sky had put the fish down. A cormorant came flying beneath the tree canopy like a flying fortess, saw me, pulled joy stick back and soared up. A bit later a merganser turned up for its supper, also obviously knowing where the fish were. It adds to my impression that predation is high this saeson.
Altogether an enjoyable and instructive day. By the way there is a large charolais bull in field no,5. Its calves and harem are there too. It got a bit restless and snorty when I walked close to it. Lovely beast, I told it!!
