This was my first try at fly-fishing. The weather was hot and sunny, the river was slow with small rapids and deep holes halfway down from the road bridge. I found a deep hole with a small eddy. From approx 20ft above the eddy I cast my dry fly and within 5 mins I caught my 1st trout followed by 2 more within the hour. I moved lower down the river and took a nice grayling what a great first fly fishing day. I would like to thank the foundation for its prompt and helpful service for me a fantastic day, I will be in touch again.

Very difficult day, river exceptionally low and clear. Fishing downstream was just about impossible so I restricted myself to the top of the beat and even there bank access was difficult. I fished in two shifts. Morning 7am - 11am nothing, then back at 3pm - 9pm where I managed to lose one but catch 2 barbel, 7lb and 9lb and a chub of 3lb. Fish took along time to recover before release and were obviously suffering from low oxygen in the water. The river needs rain and a good flush through.

River low and clear. Really needs some rain, however had a really good day. Worth wading out and trotting a float through the deeper water although these swims take a bit of finding. Barbel not really showing during the day. Had so many dace and chub I lost count. All barbel fell to pellet. Evening definitely the best.

Very nice stretch of water, only problem lack of pegs(partly due to very low water level) but we all managed to find a swim. Fishing was tough but managed 5 barbel to 9lbs 14oz and 5 chub, 3-4lbs. Most fish came to pellet and feeder. Very long walk and mountain track to venue.

River very low and clear, hard going in the bright sunshine but my fishing buddy managed a barbel around 7lbs and two chub around the 3lb mark. Myself, I did not have a bite, would fish it again with a bit more water and colour on.

A grand day out in the sun. Nothing was moving to small dries/paras, so switched to klink and dink. 4 trout to a tiny flashback ptn, and 1 (the smallest) to the klink. 4 were 7" to 10",and one at 12/13" was my best from the Clettwr. All in great condition.
