Another change in the weather, back to the rain. Fished until underpants wet (about 4pm) then gave up but still very enjoyable. 3 x small barbel, 3 x small chub, all on pellet.

First time on the Wye. A literal baptism. High water and lots of rain for most of the day. Caught one chub to save the day. Looking forward to another day when or if we get proper summer.

Two of us fished 11 'til 7 for 12 barbel and 15 + Chub, including a couple of 9 lb + Barbel and a 6 lb Chub.
Very heavy rain and the high water level made the banks a bit tricky upstream so we fished down the bottom end. Lovely beat with plenty of water to go at better conditions. Ellipse pellets again the winning bait. Driving down the track to the river only advisable with a 4x4.

Did not start fishing until 1700, showers and windy but settled into a swim, river coloured but level remained constant.
Fished the near margins, small pellet with a few thrown in as freebies - caught 4 barbel in 3 hours, three great condition with the biggest double figures, one looking a little jaded after spawning.
Overall a great 3 hours - Thanks

The water was very high and made the fishing rather difficult. The the water was coming through at a tremendous pace. I did however manage to catch a barbel of around 5lb and a chub of around 4lb on Halibet pellet. As the water was continuing to rise and fishing conditions were not good as it rained most of the day and the banks were slippery I reluctantly decided to come home two days early.
The Wye River has wonderful potential for barbel and chub my main target but the contitions were far from perfect. That's fishing. I did find other anglers and the fishing tackle shop in the area very friendly and helpful and managed to gather a lot of information for next time.

Beat:The Edw, Aberedw
Fishing:Trout (River)

River was a touch high with a bit of colour but still very fishable. Not much happening on top but a big black klinkhammer got the local residents interested! Brought 6 fish to hand - 6" to 12" - and plenty more dropped off or missed on the take - stocks seem good!
Great day as per usual, thanks WUF.

River high and rising after heavy rain overnight. Throwing it down all day. Caught 3, all returned, 1 on copper john nymph, 2 on dry olive because despite the rain there was a good hatch and occasional rising fish.
Goosander around all day but saw no mink

First time on Llyn Em but conditions looked good if perhaps a touch too much water ( picky ). Thus caught Grayling, Trout and Chub but the elusive Salmon remained - elusive. No sign or sight at all.
Note to would be anglers who like the quiet life - this beat is RIGHT next to the road for much of its length.
