Arrived to a dramatic looking storm looming behind the Church, luckily we all caught fish before it arrived, we had to really bat-ton down the hatches at 4 pm, that really killed the fishing but had a brilliant 6 days on the Wye, no big catches all week but Barbel every day and some decent weather and local refreshments. Highly rate the Creel, plenty of good swims and easy parking and access to beat.

Very quiet. Stretch was carrying too much colour for the fly, we felt, with the gauge at Ross showing somewhere between .83 and .89 throughout the day.

Did not see any signs of life this time around, but such a nice beat, that we are looking forward to fishing it again already.

Only two of us fished today, but we found the Barbel and Chub in a hungry mood. The water level had increased with last nights rain, but did drop again during the day.

First time fishing /exploring this long and wild stretch. It’s beautiful - kingfishers and deer regular companions. Started off downstream in Martins pool and couldn’t buy a bite not helped with a lot of debris coming down. Decided on a move in the pm and sought advice from fellow anglers who kindly directed me upstream to the Culvert. Action was immediate and regular and welcomed in the heavy rain that arrived. Thx Wye/usk

Fantastic days fishing with the general stamp of chub around the 4lb bracket. One Barbel coming out at 8lb 12oz. Looked like a much bigger fish! Will definitely be back as a lovely stretch of the Wye.
