Fished later on in the day for a couple of hours, I lost a Barbel on the first cast after feeding the swim for an hour, not a knock until I was packing up and the rod went off. Back next year to home farm, it's a wonderful place to wet line lots of great memories for me as well as some stunning fish and wildlife.

River dropping, caught through out the day, no monsters but all appreciated. Quite a bit of noise from the shoots, interested to see the pheasants sneaking across the field and flying across the river, they're not that daft.

This is my current favourite stretch of the Wye but it was very tough going with water levels dropping and the river clarity rising. Lots of debris also meant a fair amount.nt of lost tackle in areas I've fished before without too much issue. Both barbel came late in the afternoon from the middle field and the other was a 6oz dace that somehow managed to take a 12mm pellet!
As ever the birdlife was amazing.

Took the walk over the hill and found the river with good pace but the colour was dropping out. Fishing was slow but managed a few barbel. Hair rigged 8mm pellets were the most productive bait.

The river looked perfect but the fish were not feeding, only one bite all day but that did result in a lovely barbel of just over 9 lbs.
