Wowser, the old Edw is very low !!!A Tricky three hours today. Fished between half ten and half one. Missing the really strong worst of this dam annoying Easterley wind !!
Twas hard going for presentation today !! Well, that and a clear, low river. I'll target some of the other streams that hold water better, at the back end of the week....
Still plenty of pools fishable, with olives and sedge on the go from elevenish ... No risers seen, just tight casts in to likely spots!!! Nothing big on the dries today....Fish between seven and nine inches ...still great fun tbh !!! Ohhhh also had a salmon parr too !!! Feisty chap, nailed my dry .....
Hoping the moorland fires in the Elan Valley are under control by Thursday... They've been burning since saturday !!! Firr crews locally have been at it full slog !!! I have a client up there tommoz. Well, Nantymoch or one of the Trisant lakes will do very nicely instead I'm guessing !!!!.... choices choices ....
Anyway, a lovely few hours here , very much in need of rain, but, on stone turning, masses of cased caddis and lots of bullheads too.... lovely to see. I recall seeing a few stone loach as well here, last season ...Dippers and kingfishers on the go, life's bloody rosey in the Edw valley !!!! Happy days ......

Sunny and warm (19c) but windy. The upper part of the beat was quite sheltered though. River looked low and clear. Nothing rising despite good variety of fly life. Had 4 to the net on a nymph biggest 15".

Bright sunshine all day. Occasional flurries of March Browns and Olives hatching from around 11.00 through till 15.00. These brought fish to the surface in the fast water at the top of the beat. Lots of missed takes but 2 fish in superb condition of 1lb 8oz and 1lb 6 oz were landed on size 14 March Brown.
