At just over a mile of mixed single and double bank river Irfon fishing, this beat lies in beautiful unspoilt rural countryside offering complete privacy and seclusion. It has a good mixture of pools, fast runs, gutters and flats, suiting a range of fly fishing techniques for the trout, grayling and late-season salmon. From November 1st to the end of February, trotting maggots for grayling is permitted too. The grayling fishing in this part of the Irfon is excellent, both in quality and quantity and the wild brown trout are usually of good average size too. In addition to being a noted trout and grayling river, the Irfon also has runs of salmon late in the season.

Wading is relatively easy along the majority of the beat in normal flows, with a gravel bed. There are a few more tricky bedrock sections, however, where more care is needed. There are two parking area, both around a 200-250 yard walk from the river.

There was an outbreak of crayfish plague in the lower Irfon in July 2024 resulting in the deaths of the many of the native white-clawed crayfish. Visiting anglers MUST ensure against cross contamination by approved check/dry/disinfection procedures, and importantly waders, nets and tackle should be sprayed with Virkon disinfectant before and after fishing.
