River a nice level. No rising fish seen.
1 trout to black hopper, 2 grayling to march brown spider.
3 trout, 3 grayling and one lost, all euro nymphing with gold head pink squirrel (point), silver head gasolina perdigon. Both flies successful.
One missed offer on the surface (dhe).

Not as much water as I remember from the last time I fished here, nothing rising so used a tiny gold head hare on the bottom and a klinkhammer on top and started getting tiny bites, just the one small grayling caught

River was at a reasonable height (1m on Erwood gauge), although would probably have been better for salmon a couple of days ago when the recent lift was peaking. Didn’t see any salmon but the trout and grayling were active. Caught a couple of fish over a pound. Well maintained beat - thank you to the owners.

Snatched a couple of hours on the Wye as my stream fishing has been obliterated.
One 12 inch wbt to the net on grhe . Wind changed to down stream and curtailed my outing.

Well I've had some good days on this beat previously but today was exceptional. A total of 18 fish caught, 4 lost and a few others missed. (11 grayling and 7 wbt). 7 fish caught in the edw stream and 11 between Alexander's and stone and the bottom 100 or so metres of the beat. All fish caught on spiders and nymphs particularly Partridge and orange. Only downside was losing a rather large grayling in the edw stream with me trying to be clever and walk back to the bank to net the fish. I also lost a really big brownie at the bottom of the beat. Not my fault this time. After quite a few minutes playing the fish I had the net ready and he decided to run again and snapped my 4lb line. Still days like these are few and far between. What a day.
