Excellent days fishing catching thirteen WBT, two of which were exceptional. See photos. Used spider's on two droppers with a Gold Head Hares Ear flashback on the point. Eleven were caught on the Hares Ear and two on a Greenwells spider. Lost four more before I could net them and had loads of pulls where they were coming short.

A cold dull day for June and a pretty lifeless river until about 6pm. Nymphed a bit and then had some nice fast action on dry flies 6 to 7ish. Caught two, missed three. Lovely beat though. Looked like a lot of fishable water and a beautiful quiet spot. Really enjoyed my day.

Sunny day with a few clouds and a light wind for the most part
Very few fish rising, did try a dry fly for a while but gave up quite quickly.
I then tried nymphs of varying weight, and then spiders, no takers. However, when using a bead head nymph I managed to hook a six inch trout on the swing. So I tried it again, and started getting regular takes on the swing. But they were vicious pulls and I was relying on them hooking themselves.
I guessed that this was because the fly was at a certain depth, so I tried suspending the nymph at different depths under an indicator, still no takes.
So the only way I could get a bite was to swing a nymph across, and then hope. I hooked several better fish this way, but in the end the best fish I managed to land was about 10 inches.
A really odd day, presenting a fly in the most unnatural way!
