Arrived at 3-30 river up with a good pace and colour 3 chub in the 3- 4lb range stayed until 8-15 hoping for a barbel but it was not to be,groundbait feeder with hemp and pellets and meat on the hook accounted for all fish.

3 Chub

Very bright and sunny day mostly, between us we managed 4 barbel mainly on meat and 8 chub. Lovely area and good access to the river.

Fished the shingle beach in front of the Weir Garden.

1 Barbel, 1 Chub

River low and clear. Barbel and chub to pellet and meat. Chub and dace on float and corn. Small pike took a chub as reeled in. Noticed a big stand of what I think is Japanese knotweed on the bank that I don’t recall from last year.

2 Barbel, 8 Chub, 1 Pike, 15 Other

Slow day, three chub in the day and 1 barbel at about 7pm 7lbs.

3 angler's all fished, 1 barbel about 4lb. Lots of chub bites, weather stayed kind to us. All caught on pellets and meat.

Great session to end my summer campaign up here….or is it?! Immediate action which then stopped just as quickly. Then they came back on the feed later. River was slightly up and weather was cooler initially but warmed up going into the evening , perfect conditions tbh. Shame to leave when they’re going like that but rules is rules. Only one set of canoes came through at the start of session

Much better this week no change in conditions no extra water just got back to my usual baiting strategy . All fish in excellent condition again apart from one barbel that had some damage to its tail. Had a Wye pb chub but unfortunately it was foulhooked in the pec! Usual baits & tactics and this time no canoes perfect!

4 Barbel, 2 Chub

A lot slower this evening with only the one barbel but a beauty nonetheless. Not really sure why whether it was down to the change in weather or a change in baiting strategy but probably just me getting my excuses in early! An enjoyable evening here as usual with a great showing from a buzzard along with an aerial display of bats as the evening drew to a close banging the line numerous times to keep you on edge!

As usual as of late another warm day but only decided to fish the evening . All fish in great condition and all well rested before returning . Disappointed to see one of the magnificent weeping willows decimated on the far bank but I’m assuming it must’ve been diseased as it certainly wasn’t just trimmed back! Usual baits & tactics. Again only one set of canoes went past which is a bonus on this shallow stretch. Hopefully get some much needed rain soon!
