Cold day with heavy showers through the morning. Fishing by 12 but after an hour the water quickly became coloured with a lot of debris and rose pretty fast. Fishable again by 5-6 pm, had some interest up to about 8pm in a grey duster on top but too slow to hook anything.

River very low, clear and the sun was very bright. Managed to hook a large BT on a weighted cadis pupa but unfortunately got snapped off.

Plenty of good size fish moving. I couldn’t fish the last pool as there was a small group fishing from the left bank.

Despite the overcast and windy weather this beat was enjoyable. Good evening rise, 2 large trout caught and released. Was a struggle to find the fish but they are certainly there.

Trout rising in the extremely low and clear water when I arrived at 5pm. Shortly after the rise petered out. The odd rise thereafter but couldn’t get one to rise to one of my offerings. Finally got one on a nymph as light began to go.

10 fish up to 2.5 lbs (two over 2 lbs), all on PTN. Good mixed hatch (incl some mayflies and even a giant stonefly seen) mainly at about 1 to 3 pm. Cool, clear evening so(?) no evening rise.

Dry fly all day, some real clonkers.

River very low and clear. Not much fly life throughout day. Landed two trout and lost one much larger. Wading/walking challenging at the bottom of the stretch.

River very low and very little hatching, fish caught on dry fly. 17” and 15”.

A couple of fish rising at about 1500 but no hatch to speak of. Very cold - snow on the hills.
