Weather was awful (heavy rain all day) but there was a small constant stream of March Brown's for most of the day. Rises were sporadic but there were certainly some fish around. A few fish were lost and we could have continued fishing all day but we were soaked to the bone. Will definitely be returning.

There was plenty of grannom about in the morning and fish rising. Soon as I had set up and ready to fish the hatch had stopped and no sign of rising fish. Did miss a take on a dry sedge and had one take on a nymph which was landed. Should have got there earlier in the morning.

No luck today! Did manage a take on a Gold Bead Hares Ear in the faster water but he didn’t stay on. Plenty of fly life around the 6pm mark with occasional rises but none to my dry fly offerings. Parking nice and close to the beat but I would urge care when walking down to the river through the gate opposite where the parking is. The route down can be slightly precarious so take your time. Not to bad walking along the beat it’s generally ok, although a slight bit of bushwhacking might be called for.
Did catch a glimpse of a mink but couldn’t get my phone out quick enough to take a pic!
Wading was ok but current can be pretty strong and can also be slightly rocky underfoot

1 small trout caught on a spider. Route to bank very overgrown at the minute, would recommend parking on the other bank and walking to the beat with the recent rain much easier to access the river too.

Water fairly low and bright sunshine. 2 lovely sized trout, 1.5/2lbs both caught on perdigon nymph under a dry cast into pool tails.
Sadly lots of people letting their dogs jump in the river and 3 or 4 families swimming, boating and skimming stones in the big pool by the island. Would have probably had a lot more fish if they were not present.
