Fish first cast that's usually a bad omen, and so it turned out to be because it took me 4 hours to catch another! Fished nymphs above and below the bridge , wasn't expecting much to be honest because the last two days on the Wye have been very slow. Conditions and water levels perfect for this beat as wading can be a little challenging ( yes i fell in ! ) fished nymphs only as I havnt seen a rise in three days.

My last chance for Salmon 2025! Lovely autumn day, the again lovely beat, morning was perfect, but sun burnt through fog and cloud around middle of day. 1 salmon seen by Plank Pool, and 1 strong take at Signal Pool which alas did not stick, but what a rush! Hopefully 2026 will be the year for my first Salmon!

Lovely day - lovely beat - too bright but fished the deep pools - flies don’t catch fish sat in their box. Just so nice the river with some water in it .

Heavy rain all morning and a half dunk whilst wading meant I was wet cold and in need of a shower and dry clothes by lunchtime :( Had 1 trout c10" on a nymph and lost a couple of smaller ones before I called it a day.

3 Grayling caught on nymphs, all from below the bridge. Biggest about 14". Rose a few trout, but did not land any.
Very blustery wind, which stopped any hatches.

Fantastic-It's finally started raining- however, a blank for both rods- not even a take, but still a day on the river. Kingfishers were busy .
