Really tricky beat. Annoyed I booked to be honest. Wading is very very difficult as the rock are so slippery. I would advise not getting in the river to be honest. I did to catch my 1 fish but there are fish in this beat for sure. casting is restricted making for a frustrating experience not being able to present flies well.

1 Trout

A beautiful day on Dolgau. Very quiet morning fishing Bridge and Glanrhos pools, but albeit what seemed like perfect grayling conditions there were no bites. I broke for lunch and decided to try below the bridge and straight into a nice Grayling, then another. Moved down to Oak pool with nothing so back up to the Bridge pool and another 2 Grayling. Taking on Sawyers Killer Bug and Duracell Copper Top. Clear water so 4X and 5X tippet was the battle winner.
Wonderful place to be.

4 Grayling

Quite mild for the time of year, river a shade higher than I would have liked and crystal clear. Spent the morning fishing below the bridge in the deep pools with little reward ( 1 caught and one lost) above the bridge was a bit better but still hard to find many fish, grayling between 10 and 17" (2 more lost ? ) and trout 11". All fish on nymphs euro fished or indicator .

Great to be back on this lovely beat, and luckily the water was clear and not too high (showing 0.630m at Dol Farm). I stuck with the nymphs and found some lovely grayling to 13”, and a few oos trout. Lots of signs of the recent storm damage, including blocked access points along the Wall Pool walkway. As ever, amongst the slippery bedrock, this is challenging beat to fish, so felt soles with tungsten studs are highly recommended.

River fairly high and fast flowing. No fish seen. No knocks or tugs. Bit disappointing really. Weather was sunny and pleasantly warm.

Lovely beat, 5 trout on a PTN all coming from Bridge Pool. Fished from 1200-1700, fished the whole beat as never visited before, will return once I figure out how to fish deep pools.

Caught several large Grayling, all on nymphs. Morning was slow but fishing improved when it started to rain.
