Big fallen trees had made much of the middle Brân beat un-fishable. I counted five freshly fallen large trees. The majority of them over the deeper pools and the few glides found. Good for the fish but not for the fisherman.

For the time of year we had a great day. Between the two of us, we landed six barbel between 5 and 8lb (biggest 8lb 12oz). Three Chub (biggest 4lb 10oz).
We had an immediate respond, first two Barbel came on a traditional Luncheon meat approach (first two casts). Then most fish where caught on a spicy meat boilie either on a straight lead or small feeder.

Arrived at 8.45 am and weather was cloudy and circa. 8c. Very little activity and no rises until about 3pm when there was a flurry of rises and a few olives on the surface. Managed to catch 1 brown trout (about 0.5 - 1.0 lb) using spiders. Shortly afterwards it went very quiet again. Lovely stretch of river.

River very high and fast due to the months of constant rain. Fished with around 10 maggots on the hook + maggot feeder. Tough fishing but managed to land 1 chub that was 2-3lbs and a small trout around 1lb. Both returned.
1 Trout, 1 Chub
