Barbel were targeted using feeder tactics by the two of us. Bait used was pellet in the feeders plugged with ground bait. Fished both the 'inspection chamber' swim, as well as the first big groin down stream of the inspection chamber swim. I had 3 barbel, while my friend had 4. I also has the two chub.

A fantastic fishery, beautiful surroundings and a real dream fishing day. Living up to the name of an 'Angling Dreams' section

Tried different methods as water was still low.
The fish definitely prefer a mobile bait at the moment.
Lost a Barbel and had 1 Eel approx 2lb rolling luncheon meat.

Really fun day and 2 personal bests for Chub and Barbel. Great fishing and wonderful wildlife in an extremely peaceful setting. But the path to the pegs at the end of the stretch desperately needs the undergrowth trimming back. Walking down there with an electric fence on one side and brambles, nettles and overhanging trees sticking out into the path and catching your gear and rods isn't appropriate. It should be comfortably wide enough for an angler to walk the whole stretch carrying their gear (rod bag, carry bag, net and chair) and at a lot of points towards the end of the beat it's not even half that. I'd like to come back but not if this isn't addressed. A few kayaks who were all very respectful and courteous.

Did not fish heavy rain on Saturday into Sunday river very high and coloured

The Lugg luckily missed most of the rain that hit the Wye, and there was only a few cm increase in levels.
Two of us fished from 10.30am to 4.30pm, catching approximately 8 grayling, 4 trout and numerous very small grayling and minnows. Grayling were mostly 8-9" with one at 12". Trout were 8", 2x10" and 14". Also lost another 14" trout at the net. Most caught on nymphs with a few on dries.

Caught on pellets.A lot of overnight rain. Overcast with sunny spells. Average weight of barbel 6 1/2lb.
