The river was a little high and fast but with good clarity. 11 trout split between nymphing (The Run) with Quill Perdigon and dry March Brown various imitations (The Flats). Beat looks very well looked after.

Fished all day using different methods. Very tricky wading and very difficult access on both sides of the river. Fences and steep sides prevented access to most of the beat apart from the top part. No fish seen or caught. Very disappointing small stream. No return visit from me.

Sunny/cloudy/windy day. Usual Rock and Island pools were too deep 1-2’ higher than our normal. V tricky wading but managed a few on Dark Knight. Midday went to Gravel Catch. Wonderful short-lived hatch of LDO, caught 4 decent trout to JGE and sedge patterns. Very splashy rises, lots of bird life also enjoying hatch (swallows, martins, wagtails). Nice stretch when levels are up.

Very helpful owner who gave advice the night before the visit. Water was a little high which made wading difficult.
Sadly no fish caught or seen, but a great spot and will return in the future.
