started at the top of the stretch, could only pick up lots of small chub on the float rod, couldnt buy a bite on the ledger. Moved back up the stretch from six until 7.30 first cast on the feeder rod produced a huge barbel well into double figures within 5 minutes and had a barbel a chuck for the next hour ranging from 5 pounds to ten pounds, wish id fished there all afternoon but maybe wouldn’t have caught so many early on, all in all a great first day. My brother fished into the woods had a fur pound chub on the float and later had barbel and chub on the feeder rod

Bright, sunny, difficult conditions. Found a few rising fish on far channel nr parking area. Managed to put them down pretty quickly! Only had a few hours and nothing caught. Did see a salmon jump, and loads of lovely bird life which compensated for the lack of trout.

River was low and clear but there were loads of swim choices - both shallow fast oxygenated water and slower deeper holes. Obviously riverbank is steep this time of year but decent steps, and ropes, have been cut out to help get to swims.
We use meat/pellet/groundbait in feeders and on the hook and caught throughout the day. Beautiful beat, with Goodrich Castle in the background. Suitable for all river levels.
Chub were mainly small but we did have one nudging 4.5-5lb. Barbel ranged from 2lb up to 7lb ish.

5 Barbel, 9 Chub

Went to the right hand bank. River banks were overgrown so only one swim was fishable.
Fish caught on legered/float fished luncheon meat. Biggest barbel was 6lb 2oz and chub 3lb 6oz.

2 Barbel, 4 Chub
