I fished Llyn Igwal in a storm. The wind blew so hard it knock the glasses off my face while I was changing flies, I scooped them out of the water with my net. With all the rain and wind I managed to catch two trout on a foam hopper. I was very grateful of the catch, because of the effort it took to get around the lake. It gets busy up there with hikers, but the majority of the shore is away from the track. Its dramatic up there with high mountains around three sides of the llyn. Next time I go will be in calm winds and cotton wool clouds. Didn't go to Ffynnon Lloer because of the weather, but did fish Ogwen for an hour where I hooked up on a rainbow, but it got off. Whisky tasted good that night.

Was really pleased to get a day here as it's normally fully booked. Many years since I fished it and has certainly changed - much less open bank but still loads of easily accessable swims. Mate fished off one of the croys, I took the long walk to bottom section, which is now quite a tight walk between trees & barbed wire fence. Still a lovely beat and look forward to hopefully fishing it again.

Hmmm - bit of a weird day after three productive days on the Wye - all I caught here was blanket weed - a real shame.
Two other things:
Could you advise the farmer that there's a recently deceased sheep on the right bank near the bottom end of the beat (Pretty much directly opposite the pedestrian gate on the opposite bank.)
I found a very nice new "Twin Peakes flyfishing baseball cap" dropped here or potentially drifted downstream from somewhere - maybe you could canvass users and I can post it on. Possibly drop it in to you tomorrow

Another fantastic day! Started at sunrise by the gates in the middle of the beat. Very slow to start with but eventually started to get bites trundling meat. Had 2 Barbel and a few chub, but decided to move into the deep water 100 mtrs downstream.
Paid off with 4 more Barbel to 6lb 8oz and a couple lost. Finished on the tail of the pool by the pump house and found a shoal of chub. Ran out of bait with 20 chub caught in total.
Well worth the drive up and back from Devon!
