River height perfect (1' on Brecon gauge) and running clear. Overcast with occasional sunny periods and intermittent stiff breeze. Olives hatching sporadically between 13:00 and 15:00, causing some fish to rise - mainly in the deeper, slower water half way down the beat.

Lovely active day up the Usk , used worms with bubble floats and ended up having a great day. The water was a bit murkey with some wind. Caught some lovely rainbows which all went back in safely after some recovery time in the net.

Had planned to fish the Usk but a forecast of heavy rain and strong winds forced a last minute change to the Talybont Reservoir. Weather was atrocious but what a lovely place! Lost 1 decent fish and that was that. Gave up when the rain became torrential.
