Hopeless. 6 hours. Tried everything. No knocks, no follows, nothing. That's the second year in a row Dad has paid out for this beat. Very disappointed. I won't be coming back. Don't believe the hype.

Fly Fished the whole beat, saw 1 resident salmon in Vanstone. No pulls. Lovely height to fish the fly.

River was Low. We only fished upstream of bridge and fished nymphs using mainly an indicator although also fished New Zealand style but all fish came to Nymphs and indicator.

4 Trout, 6 Grayling

Fly fished for a couple of hours. Nothing rising, water level was lower than usual and quite a wind when we were here.

No sign of any fish or flies very quiet.

Slightly cooler overcast day so hoping for a reasonable day after all the bright sunshine. River extremely low , I’m hoping this was the reason for a non productive day and not my abilities!
Walked the length of the beat before setting up , not one fish seen, not one rise and no hatch, a thoroughly disappointing day!
Fished Penpont 4 times now and three of the four visits have been extremely hard work, I’ll give it a miss next time and try another beat!
