A tricky day, which I had expected after reading the recent catch returns for this stretch. Caught my new personal best barbel so I came away very happy. It's a beautiful place to spend a day and it's very accessible.

Lovely stretch of water, river clear with some nice pools, didn’t catch a single fish or have a bite! Also did not even see a fish, a small hatch came off midday and I didn’t see a single rise… I guess one of them days…

Love this fishery. Well kept great access to swims, and very consistent along it's length.

River in nice looking condition.
The fields were dry and we were able to drive down to the river, which was a real bonus. We have fished this beat several years running and would not recommend driving to the river in dry conditions we nearly got stuck last year after a bit of drizzle.
Roving between swims seamed the best approach
