River was looking great. Good clarity and level and not too much debris. We fished the upstream section up to the no fishing area and there was 5 or so areas to fish but wasn’t the easiest accessing them. Definitely needs some work done to the swims. Lots of rubbish and a tent left on the bank which just so happened, came in handy for when the car got stuck in the mud.

The river was carrying about 1.5meters and starting to rise a little in the afternoon. 8 chub and 2 barbel all caught on feeder and meat. Chub were in the 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 lb region. Barbel were 8lb 2 oz and 11lb 5 oz.
Stunning beat, but travel light as there is a walk from car park to furthest pegs.

Good conditions with river falling slowly for most of the day and only beginning to rise as we left the fishery. Caught steadily throughout the day - all on the feeder alternating pellet and meat. Chub up to over four pounds but regrettably no Barbel. Other was an eel.

A lovely autumn beat with the river running at just below a metre and steady on the Ross gauge. Bites were slow with only chub to maggot feeder and a surprise trout to static meat in the morning.
We moved to the big slack at lunchtime and were rewarded quickly with two fish in a minute, one a barbel of 9lb 12oz to feeder and meat, the other a lovely pike of 20.8 on whole herring. It was pandemonium for a while!
Two more chub followed and the rain didn’t bother us at all!
