Only a foot on the Llanstephan gauge this morning but the river was quite coloured.
Two of the trout on salmon gear early on but no salmon seen. The others came to assorted offerings in the flats early evening. A decent hatch of BWO’s got them looking up after a particularly heavy shower.

Fished both after lunch and then again after supper.
The evening was active.
Caught four trout but there were probably another 20 or even 30 who refused the fly, spat it out, or weren’t hooked well enough.

Great days fishing on a wonderful river. Water level was slightly high and coloured but managed some good sized trout to a gold head nymph under a klinkhammer duo set up. Swinging spiders through open water worked as did small olive dry fly patterns later in the day.
