Only 1 angler fished - tough day after an awful lot of rain… highlight was a large fallen tree floating by!

Water level at 0.4, showing a hint of colour and with a 9.8 water temperature - 4.5 degrees lower than last week
2 fished up the top for 5 chub between them. 2 fished down the bottom for 5 barbel and 9 chub. Standard gb feeders with pellet hookbaits. Biggest barbel 8.08. So a frustrating day as the organiser, as you want all to catch barbel, but all did catch at least a couple of fish.

Conditions Sunny and very windy , River increasing level hit over 3m during the day , River had many large trees and large branches moving down stream , some crashing into the banks. difficult fishing conditions had to retreat up the bank 3 times but the Barbel were feeding. Caught close in out the main flow under rod tip , lots of leaf snagging line
Simple method 3oz lead , 5ft hook length , meat. Barbel 6lb , 2 x 8lb and PB 10lb 11oz. other fish 1 x Chub and 4 x eels.
Lovely country venue , amazing Long Horn cattle in the field behind , King fishers , Common Crane , Deer opposite bank.

Only two fished, only two fishable swims, due to weather we packed up early and went home.Nothing caught

First trip to Goodrich Court. Arrived at the right hand bank. The vast majority of the river is inaccessible. We walked long way down, and through the woods and couldn’t get any near the river. Jumped in the car and 25 mins later arrived at the left hand bank. After short walk we found a couple of swims, and with the weather closing in, got on with it. A few chub came to both anglers. Then a cracking bite and fight with a 9lb4oz barbel (and a bit of tree) came to one angler. Another fish of about 6 a bit later. The other angler having lost a few chub then put a couple of decent barbel in the net. With a rapidly rising river, torrential rain and 40mph winds we called it a day about 2.30lm. Still we got what we came for!!!

Arrived at 7-15 river showing 1.3m on Lydbrook gauge and rising but no colour,weather overcast with showers nothing in first hour but then a succession of chub in the 1lb -3lb range and a solitary barbel fished with meat feeder with meat on the hair.Stopped fishing at12 wind was picking up and swim I was in made landing fish treacherous even with a rope unfortunately left spikes for my boots at home,but another productive day at Thomas wood.
