Great 2 day session with 6 Barbel and 4 Chub. Biggest Barbel just under 10lb and Chub up to 4lb. Took a while to find the fish but constantly walking up and down the stretch finally allowed me to spot them over a pacy gravel run (about halfway along the river). Some stealthy clambering down and feeding with hemp and pellets got them going and caught 5 Barbel in a row! Returned the next day to find the fish much more cautious and only the one along with the chub. Great fun though and beautiful river (if a bit a low).

Very low water which surprised me because of the rain we had recently. No fish showing but did see one from the bridge before I started fishing. Tough day not helped by two paddle boarders who proceeded to go swimming in every available bit of deep water back up to the bridge. Add in the joy of tripping over a sunken nylon rope strung across the river under the surface causing a headfirst ducking not a great day! Spent three hours but most of that was spent watching idiots on boards ruining any chances and cutting rope and drying out.
Won’t be returning for a while!!
