First time on this beat, from the bridge I walked to the bottom down to the river and met a another angler on opposite bank so walked back and fished above the bridge which also seemed the easier wading
The fish caught were in the quicker water ,i only fished dry fly today.A very pretty beat although not the easiest wading but worth ago.

Area:Lugg & Arrow

Beat:Court of Noke

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

Hadn’t been to this stretch for a few weeks and oh my goodness….. jungle warfare just to reach the river! Nettles, balsam…. A poke around with the wading stick to find the drop offs all required several times as you enter and exit the river. Absolutely no fish rising which was a surprise. Managed 2 wbt to the nymph (duo tactics). Think I’ll try more open irfon beats next to have a rest from bank clearance!

Area:Usk

Beat:Old Clytha

Fishing:Salmon

No. of Anglers:2

Didn’t fish for salmon - just a few hours after trout before driving home. A lovely stretch of water. Took one nice fish on spiders in the flats above the main pool and a very chunky fish on nymphs fished deep in a riffle. Missed a few other takes. Saw a few rises but nothing consistent enough to target. Lots of kingfishers shooting around. Shame we couldn’t stick around for the evening.
