Arrived to a high and muddy Usk, thought we'd try and make the best of it with mini lures. Lost a good fish that stayed deep and threw the hook after 30 seconds. Slowly but surely the colour was dropping out but the level stayed high with strong currents. Made my way to the top of the beat and notice a few LDOs, this built into a proper hatch and fish rose to them. Managed to winkle a couple of lean trout to my olive quill emerger, so pleasing after what I thought was going to be a difficult day.

A lot of water pushing through and still a bit of colour in the water. No real hatches but saw the odd LDO in the air. Saw the root ball of some Japanese Knot weed that had been washed out on the right bank two thirds of the way up near where the trib enters the main river. Might be worth taking look before it gets a hold. Thanks W&U :-) .
