Another good day at Thomas wood river at normal level with a good colour water temp 14 degrees arrived at 11am and fished until dusk,chub were 3lb 6oz, 3lb 10oz, 4lb, 4lb, 4lb4oz, 4lb6oz, 4lb8oz, 4lb10oz, 4lb11oz and 5lb6oz the barbel weighed 5lb, 6lb2oz, 6lb9oz, 6lb11oz, 7lb4oz, 8lb8oz, 8lb14oz and 9lb4oz all fish caught on ground bait and pellet feeder with meat on the hook.

Fished from 3 until one hour after sunset pretty much non stop action from the start chub weighed in at 3lb 6oz,3lb 10oz, 4lb 5oz,5lb 7oz and 5lb 9oz barbel were 3lb4oz,4lb 2oz, 6lb5oz,6lb 9oz, 7lb 4oz, 7lb 6oz, 7lb 10oz, 8lb, 8lb4oz, 8lb 8oz, 8lb 8oz and 9lb.All caught using meat and ground bait feeder with 4mm pellet mixed in.

Very wet and windy but the barbel didn’t seem to mind. Seven nice fish between 4.5 and 9.5 pounds all on halibut feeder quite close in to avoid all the debris coming down. Not many fishable swims but the fish are certainly there.

Having caught 3 barbel in my lifetime, to come to the Wye and get 6 in an afternoon was amazing.
Hair rig meat , chopped spam in a feeder , started at 2pm , an hour in the car when in hammered with rain , then fished from 5 till 7 and basically a fish a cast , fantastic .
Chubby all around 4 lb barbel ranged from 5 to 8.
